How Leroy handles data.
Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Leroy collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit the site, create an account, subscribe, use research tools, request exports, play public games, submit feature requests, or contact us.
If you do not agree with this policy, do not use Leroy.
Information we collect
- Account information, such as your name, email address, login credentials, account settings, access tier, and session information.
- Billing and subscription information, such as plan, purchase history, subscription status, invoices, billing contact details, tax details, and Stripe customer identifiers. Stripe processes payment-card details; Leroy does not store full card numbers.
- Product activity, such as simulations requested, research views opened, paper experiments configured, export requests, game attempts, feature requests, votes, support messages, and administrative audit events.
- Technical information, such as IP address, browser type, device type, approximate location derived from network data, pages viewed, referring pages, timestamps, and diagnostics.
- Communications you send to us, including email, support requests, feedback, and legal requests.
Do not submit brokerage credentials, Social Security numbers, government identification numbers, bank-login credentials, health information, or other sensitive personal information unless Leroy expressly asks for it through a secure product workflow.
Google Analytics and cookies
The only tracking tool intentionally used on the public site is Google Analytics. We use it to understand aggregate site usage, traffic sources, page performance, and product-interest patterns. Google describes how it handles information in the Google Privacy Policy. You can also review Google's Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Leroy may use essential cookies or similar storage for authentication, session security, preferences, fraud prevention, checkout, and service operation. Stripe may set cookies or collect device information when checkout, billing, or subscription management is used.
Stripe
Stripe is used for checkout, payments, subscription management, billing, fraud prevention, tax support, receipts, and payment dispute handling. Stripe may collect and process payment, billing, device, transaction, and fraud-prevention information under its own terms and privacy practices. Review the Stripe Privacy Policy and Stripe Privacy Center.
How we use information
- Provide, operate, secure, maintain, and improve Leroy.
- Create and manage accounts, authentication sessions, subscriptions, billing, upgrades, and access tiers.
- Run simulations, research views, paper experiments, model comparisons, exports, feature requests, and product analytics.
- Measure site performance and public marketing effectiveness with Google Analytics.
- Detect, prevent, investigate, and respond to abuse, fraud, security incidents, policy violations, or technical failures.
- Communicate with you about your account, purchases, service updates, support, legal notices, and administrative messages.
- Comply with legal, tax, accounting, security, and regulatory obligations.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information for money. We do not use third-party advertising networks on the site. We may share information with:
- Stripe, for checkout, billing, subscription management, tax, fraud prevention, receipts, and disputes.
- Google Analytics, for aggregate usage measurement and analytics.
- Infrastructure, hosting, database, security, email-delivery, logging, diagnostics, and operational service providers that help run Leroy under appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.
- Professional advisers, legal authorities, or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce terms, protect rights, prevent harm, or complete a business transfer.
Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain accurate records, comply with legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, and preserve security. We may retain de-identified, aggregated, or non-personal research and analytics data.
Your choices and rights
You may contact legal@getleroy.com to request access, correction, deletion, export, or restriction of personal information, or to object to certain processing. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Some information may be retained where required for security, billing, tax, legal, dispute, or operational reasons.
You can manage billing through Stripe-powered account tools when available. You can also use browser settings to limit cookies, though disabling essential cookies may break login, checkout, or product functionality.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect information. No internet service, database, or transmission method is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for using a strong password, keeping your account credentials confidential, and promptly notifying us if you believe your account has been compromised.
Children
Leroy is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact legal@getleroy.com.
International users
Leroy is operated from the United States. If you use the service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the product, laws, or operations change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated through the site or account email when appropriate.
Rules for using Leroy.
Agreement
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Leroy. By using Leroy, creating an account, starting a subscription, buying lifetime access, requesting exports, or accessing research outputs, you agree to these Terms.
If you use Leroy on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” includes that organization.
Research software only
Leroy provides research software, simulations, model comparisons, paper-trading experiments, leaderboards, benchmarks, and educational market-analysis tools. Leroy is not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, custodian, clearing firm, exchange, bank, tax adviser, legal adviser, fiduciary, or portfolio manager.
Leroy does not provide individualized investment advice, execute subscriber trades, custody assets, clear transactions, recommend securities to you personally, or determine whether any trade, strategy, model, or financial instrument is suitable for you.
Leroy is not registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, FINRA, any state securities regulator, or any other financial-services regulator as a broker-dealer, investment adviser, exchange, clearing agency, commodity trading adviser, or introducing broker.
Important securities and trading notice
- Leroy does not recommend that you buy, sell, hold, short, or trade any security, ETF, option, commodity, cryptoasset, derivative, or other financial instrument.
- Leroy does not know your financial situation, objectives, risk tolerance, tax status, time horizon, restrictions, or suitability needs.
- Any ticker, strategy, model output, score, ranking, chart, game result, simulation, or export is general research information only.
- You are solely responsible for deciding whether, when, and how to trade, and for all gains, losses, fees, taxes, slippage, liquidity issues, and execution outcomes.
- If you need advice, consult a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, tax professional, attorney, or other qualified professional.
No investment advice or performance guarantee
Simulations, backtests, paper-trading results, model scores, leaderboards, benchmark comparisons, game results, examples, and exported proof ledgers are research outputs. They are not actual customer returns, audited performance, investment advice, trading instructions, or guarantees of future results.
Markets involve risk, including possible loss of principal. Historical or simulated performance is not a reliable indicator of future performance. You are solely responsible for your trading, investment, tax, legal, and financial decisions.
You must not treat Leroy outputs as a substitute for your own diligence, professional advice, current market data, broker confirmations, exchange notices, risk controls, or independent verification.
Hypothetical and simulated performance
Leroy may display hypothetical performance, simulated trades, paper trades, shadow-ledger results, historical replays, benchmark comparisons, rankings, model-filter outcomes, and “what-if” results. These outputs are generated by software using assumptions that may include historical data availability, fills, position sizing, fees, liquidity, benchmark proxies, trading windows, model thresholds, data-cleaning choices, and other constraints.
Hypothetical and simulated results have important limitations. They do not represent actual trading in your account, may not include all market frictions, may benefit from hindsight, may be overfit, may be affected by data errors, and may not reflect emotional, operational, tax, liquidity, latency, borrowing, margin, or execution constraints present in live trading.
No representation is made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits, losses, drawdowns, win rates, rankings, or other results similar to those shown by Leroy.
Accounts and eligibility
- You must provide accurate account information and keep it current.
- You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for activity under your account.
- You may not share, resell, sublicense, scrape, bulk-export, or redistribute access except as expressly allowed by Leroy.
- You must be legally able to enter into these Terms and use the service under applicable law.
Subscriptions, founding access, billing, and refunds
Paid access may include monthly subscriptions, founding lifetime tiers, upgrades, or other paid plans shown at checkout. Prices, features, usage limits, and availability may change, but changes will not retroactively reduce a paid term already purchased except where required for security, legal compliance, or product integrity.
Payments, invoices, checkout, subscription management, billing details, upgrades, and related customer portal functions are processed through Stripe. You authorize us and Stripe to charge applicable fees, taxes, and renewal amounts for the plan you select.
Fees are non-refundable, including founding lifetime purchases, monthly subscription charges, and upgrade charges, except where a refund is required by applicable law or expressly stated at checkout. We do not provide prorated refunds or credits for a partial billing period, unused time, or a cancellation made after a charge has been processed. If you cancel a recurring plan, cancellation generally takes effect at the end of the then-current billing period and prevents future renewals; it does not automatically refund the current period.
“Lifetime” access means access for the commercial life of the Leroy product or the applicable paid tier, not your lifetime or an indefinite guarantee that every current feature, dataset, model, domain, price, or integration will remain available forever.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Leroy for unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, abusive, or deceptive activity.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, copy, extract, resell, or reconstruct proprietary strategy logic, model outputs, datasets, rankings, or trade ledgers beyond your permitted use.
- Interfere with, overload, scan, attack, bypass, or disrupt Leroy, its authentication, its billing systems, its rate limits, or its infrastructure.
- Upload malicious code, attempt unauthorized access, or use automated scraping or bulk collection without written permission.
- Misrepresent simulation outputs as guaranteed returns, audited results, broker statements, or individualized financial advice.
- Use Leroy to provide investment advice, managed-account services, copy-trading services, signal resale, or regulated financial services without all required licenses and written permission from Leroy.
Research outputs, exports, and data limits
Leroy may provide charts, leaderboards, paper experiments, simulation summaries, model scores, and downloadable ledgers. These outputs may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, inaccurate, revised, rate-limited, redacted by tier, or derived from third-party or historical market data.
Exported ledgers are provided for review and education. You may not use exports to create a competing service, redistribute proprietary research, or imply that Leroy certifies real-world trade execution.
Leroy may add, remove, rerun, restate, correct, archive, or invalidate research outputs when data, code, model logic, assumptions, pricing, timestamps, symbols, corporate actions, benchmarks, or validation rules change.
Data, market data, and model limitations
Leroy depends on historical datasets, market-data sources, third-party systems, internal pipelines, and software models. Data can be missing, stale, delayed, adjusted, mislabeled, duplicated, rounded, restated, or unavailable. Models can be wrong. Scores and classifications can change as new data, validation rules, or model versions are introduced.
Leroy does not warrant that any dataset, quote, chart, leaderboard, replay, model score, strategy label, benchmark proxy, or export is complete, current, accurate, suitable, or available for any trading or investment purpose.
No live execution or broker relationship
Unless a separate written agreement expressly says otherwise, Leroy does not place orders, route orders, approve trades, manage accounts, hold funds, hold securities, provide margin, clear transactions, or act as an introducing broker. If you choose to trade based on information you see, you do so outside Leroy and at your own risk through your own broker or financial intermediary.
Intellectual property
Leroy, including its software, interface, design, research organization, datasets prepared by or for Leroy, model outputs, scoring systems, strategy names, redaction system, content, branding, and documentation, is owned by Leroy or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms give you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Leroy according to your access tier.
User content and feedback
If you submit feature requests, votes, comments, feedback, support messages, experiment configurations, or similar content, you grant Leroy permission to use, store, reproduce, modify, display, and analyze that content to operate, improve, support, and market the service. You represent that you have the rights needed to submit that content.
Public games, leaderboards, sharing, and community features
Public games, competition rankings, feature-request votes, paper-experiment leaderboards, and share cards are for engagement, education, and product discovery. They are not contests of actual investment skill, verified account performance, advice, endorsements, or guarantees. We may moderate, remove, reorder, seed, reset, recalculate, or disable community features to protect product integrity, prevent abuse, or improve the experience.
Testimonials, examples, and marketing claims
Any examples, screenshots, case studies, testimonials, endorsements, rankings, or marketing demonstrations are illustrative and may not be representative of typical user outcomes. Users may have different data access, risk settings, time periods, tax situations, constraints, discipline, broker execution, costs, or results. Paid, affiliated, or incentivized endorsements must be disclosed where required by law.
Third-party services and links
Leroy may link to or integrate with third-party services, including Stripe for payments and Google Analytics for site measurement. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Leroy is not responsible for third-party services, outages, actions, data practices, or content.
Availability and changes
Leroy is an evolving product. We may add, change, limit, suspend, remove, or discontinue features, datasets, models, views, exports, pricing, tiers, or access rules. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, create risk, cause abuse, or threaten product integrity.
Beta features and experimental systems
Some Leroy features may be experimental, beta, preview, prototype, or partially automated. Experimental features may be unstable, inaccurate, delayed, changed without notice, restricted by tier, or removed entirely. Do not rely on beta or experimental outputs for financial decisions.
Disclaimers
Leroy is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, uninterrupted operation, and error-free performance.
We also disclaim responsibility for market losses, execution losses, missed opportunities, rejected orders, broker outages, data outages, stale data, model errors, regulatory changes, tax consequences, third-party service failures, or decisions you make after using Leroy.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Leroy and its owners, operators, employees, contractors, affiliates, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, punitive, or lost-profit damages; trading or investment losses; data loss; business interruption; or damages arising from your reliance on research outputs.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to Leroy will not exceed the amount you paid to Leroy during the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, or $100 if you paid nothing.
Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Leroy and its owners, operators, employees, contractors, affiliates, and service providers from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your use of Leroy, your violation of these Terms, your content, your trading or investment decisions, or your violation of law or third-party rights.
Disputes and governing law
Before filing a claim, you agree to contact legal@getleroy.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee and applicable United States law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless applicable consumer-protection law requires otherwise.
Arbitration and class-action waiver
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you and Leroy agree that disputes will be resolved through binding individual arbitration rather than in court, except that either party may bring qualifying individual claims in small-claims court or seek injunctive relief for misuse of intellectual property, unauthorized access, security abuse, or misuse of confidential information.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you and Leroy waive the right to a jury trial and the right to participate in a class action, class arbitration, private attorney general action, or representative proceeding. Claims must be brought only in an individual capacity.
Time limit for claims
To the fullest extent permitted by law, any claim relating to Leroy or these Terms must be filed within one year after the event giving rise to the claim, or it is permanently barred.
Force majeure
Leroy is not responsible for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including market closures, exchange issues, data-provider failures, cloud outages, payment-provider failures, cyberattacks, labor disputes, natural disasters, war, terrorism, government actions, regulatory changes, or internet failures.
Termination and survival
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create legal or security risk, misuse the product, fail to pay, or if continued service would threaten Leroy, other users, or third parties. Sections concerning fees, intellectual property, restrictions, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnity, dispute resolution, and any provisions that by nature should survive will survive termination.
Miscellaneous
These Terms, together with any checkout terms and policies referenced here, are the entire agreement between you and Leroy for use of the service. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, asset sale, or by operation of law.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the product, laws, or operations change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of Leroy after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
